BALI

2017, Bali, Indonesia.

Immersed in the splendid natural landscapes of Bali, Ricky Lee Gordon once again exercises all the charm and poetry of his pictorial research. In fact, the key element of the South African interpreter's productions is the marked sensitivity and above all the willingness to address themes and topics of an introspective nature and capable of triggering a dialogue with the space and the work environment. In searching for him, the artist underlines the need for a change in the way each of us conceives of our own existence, the need to modify our relationship with others. All this is closely related to the interpreter's idea that each of us is interconnected and interdependent on the other, as parts of a single and vast global network where everyone is unique and special in their own way.

Influenced by the natural landscape, Ricky Lee Gordon paints "Nature stretches out her arms to embrace man", the title of this last effort by the artist, once again embracing the key themes of his research, once again using water as a symbol of connection and introspection.
